Gurdgieff wrote in Conversations with Interesting Men that his father believed a man had 4 duties in life. The one that always stuck in my mind is “preparing for old age.”
Pension monies have already shown a tendency to vanish. Think about where they are invested— the financial market— and what can happen to numbers (not even) on paper.
